National Quality Label

eTwinning Quality Labels are granted to teachers with excellent eTwinning projects. They indicate that the project has reached a certain national and European standard.

  1. Does your eTwinning project have common goals and a shared plan?
  2. Has it finished or is in its last stages?
  3. Have you and your students contributed to all the project’s activities?
  4. Have you and your partners organised collaborative activities?
  5. Are your project results visible?

If the answer is YES to all 5 requirements, then why don’t you apply for a National Quality Label?

A National Quality Label is awarded to teachers with excellent eTwinning projects and indicate that the project has reached a certain level of quality in their country.

How to apply

  1. Log in to eTwinning Live
  2. Go to Projects
  3. Find your project and click on Apply for a Quality Label
  4. Complete all the boxes with all the required information and provide evidence of your work
  5. You can follow all the above steps for each of your projects that you think deserve a Quality Label.

Useful tips

Complete all the information before in a Word document and then copy paste your answers to the application form. This will prevent you losing what you have written in the form, if it takes more than 30 minutes to complete! Provide more information for the non-visible aspects of your project as the evaluators will see all the visible work in your TwinSpace

The Quality Label is granted to the teacher and it is personal. Even if you work with other colleagues in your school, each of you should apply for a Quality Label and present how he/she has contributed to the project. The Quality Label is granted to the teachers who contributed actively and visibly to the project’s activities.

Why apply:

Concrete recognition for teachers and schools of the high level of their eTwinning activities. Encouraging students to continue participating and working in eTwinning activities and a concrete way to show that their efforts have been recognised. Students can receive the Pupil Quality Label, once their teacher receives a National Quality Label. Public affirmation of school’s commitment to quality and openness in European collaborative work.

Who grants the quality label?

The National Support Service (NSS) in each country evaluates applications from schools for the National Quality Label. Labels are awarded throughout the year, however, in some countries, deadlines are fixed, so be sure to consult your NSS for information about the deadlines in your country. Once the application is accepted or rejected, your NSS will contact you.

CRITERIA FOR QUALITY LABELS

Pedagogical innovation

  • the project has originality in terms of its theme
  • it uses a variety of pedagogical methods
  • pupils are the ones who take the lead
  • pupils interact with their partners and work collaboratively using different methods like information gathering, problem solving, research, comparative work
  • pupils take different roles as artists, journalists, technicians, scientists, actors etc.

Curricular integration

  • the project is rooted in the school curriculum and syllabi
  • the majority of project work is done during the school hours
  • the curricular integration in the project is clear
  • project work allows students develop their skills and competences
  • the project-based pedagogical framework has been explained and documented by the teacher

Communication and exchange between partner schools

  • the information sharing has identifiable goals
  • communication between pupils is a clear goal for the teachers
  • students can share the work, deal with the same topic, interact and come up with a final outcome
  • communication activities are designed to encourage students to read, listen and view the work of their partners.

Collaboration between partner schools

  • partner schools work together to accomplish joint activities
  • partners are not just recipients of information
  • collaborative activities result to a tangible outcome

Use of technology

Make sure that:

  • the project results are presented online
  • students are involved in the TwinSpace
  • all steps of the project are documented including planning - activities' description - evaluation – feedback
  • you evaluate and publish the impact that the project had on the students and teachers involved in the project.
